Steve James
Steve James is best known as the producer-director of the documentary Hoop Dreams, winner of every major critic’s prize of 1994 and also named to the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 2005. Other documentaries include Life Itself, about influential film critic Roger Ebert; Stevie, which won at numerous festivals and landed on a dozen ten best lists; At the Death House Door, which won several festival awards and was nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award; No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson for ESPN’s “30 for 30” series; and The Interrupters, winner of Best Documentary at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards.
