About Mexican Symphony: Six Educational Films

A series of short educational films—Idol of Hope, The Conquering Cross, Spaniard and Indian, Land and Freedom, Mexico Marches, and Zapotec Village—made from footage originally shot for Sergei Eisenstein's ¡Que viva México!, known collectively as Mexican Symphony. Each film was edited by William F. Krusse and Egon Mauthner for distribution by Bell & Howell Company. [72 min; documentary; English]

Before the screening, join the Art History Department for a lecture by Yuri Tsivian (University of Chicago) at 5pm at the Fine Arts building in room 015 (Auditorium).
