Set amidst the burgeoning Seattle alternative music scene of the early '90s, writer/director Cameron Crowe collects a stellar ensemble cast in this sweet, funny tale of twentysomethings searching for, running from, and finding love in early 1990s Seattle.
Arranged as an episodic comedy, Singles spotlights the intertwined lives of the co-habitants, friends, and bandmates of the same Seattle apartment building. Foregrounded by the tumultuous romantic relationship between Steve (Campbell Scott) and Linda (Kyra Sedgwick)—who meet at an Alice in Chains concert, of course!—the drama extends to their friendship with Janet Livermore (Bridget Fonda), who is tirelessly trying to win the affection of grunge-rocker Cliff Poncier (Matt Dillon). as well as their neighbor Debbie Hunt (Sheila Kelly), who is aching for a husband who appreciates her and her fantastic earrings. The film also features an endless stream of stellar cameos, including Eric Stoltz, Bill Pullman, Tom Skerritt, Peter Horton, Tim Burton, Eddie Vedder, and so many more!
