Creative Collaborations
A competitive application process that enables IU student, campus, and community groups to highlight important topics and ideas through film screenings and film-related educational programs, aimed at bridging campus and community and engaging new and returning audiences. Application open period: Annually—Fall Break through Thanksgiving Break
Program timing: The academic year following the application date (i.e. for an academic year 2027–28 series, your application should be submitting during the academic year 2026–27 application period)
Recommended for: Groups interested in curating and presenting a collaborative, interdisciplinary, multi-event series at IU Cinema with a 9–12-month planning period.
Screen Share
Now open for Fall 2026 proposals.
The Screen Share program allows IU Cinema to partner with community groups, campus units, and student groups on film-related programs, helping to keep our big screen offering inventive, inclusive, and deeply engaged in our community. Apply here for Fall 2026 Screen Share program consideration.
Application open period: Semesterly—from start of each semester until all spots filled
Program timing: The semester after the semester you apply (i.e. for a spring 2027 program proposal, your application should be submitted during the fall 2026 application period).
Recommended for: Groups interested in partnering with IU Cinema on a single film or film-related program with a 2–4-month planning period.
Cinema Rentals
IU Cinema is available to rent for conferences, workshops, meetings, private film screenings, and more. Explore rental policies, procedures, and rates.
Rental space available: Year-round—with closure periods University’s Thanksgiving and Winter breaks and from June 30 to August 16, 2026).
Program timing: Rolling basis—rental inquiries with fewer than 20 days’ notice will not be considered
Recommended for: Groups looking to hold their private event at IU Cinema with a 1-month+ planning period.
IU Cinema Space Request
Submit a request for non-screening/events only, like Benton Mural viewings, IU Cinema tours, or filming in IU Cinema.
