Cinema Rentals

Indiana University Cinema is one of IU Bloomington's most impressive spaces, and it is now available to rent for your next event! IU Cinema is a welcoming and flexible space for your needs. We accept rental requests for many different types of events, including:

• Private film screenings
• Conferences
• Birthday Parties
• Weddings
• Meetings
• Lectures
• University ceremonies
• Student events
• … and much, much more! 

Interested in renting the Cinema? Please read through the important notes below to start the process!

• Rental inquiries must be received with adequate notice allowing IU Cinema to assess venue feasibility, staffing availability, and all mitigating factors necessary to present a successful rental event. Required notice for rental inquiries is as follows:
  • 40 days’ notice: Complex rental (public film screenings/lectures, conferences, etc.)
  • 20 days’ notice: Simple rental (private meetings/screenings, information sessions, etc.)
  • 10 days’ notice: Quality control check of filmic content

• IU Cinema generally CANNOT accommodate rental requests for the following days/times as they are reserved for our regular programming:
  • Tuesdays: 5pm and later
  • Thursdays: 5pm and later
  • Fridays: 5pm and later
  • Saturdays: 12pm and later
  • Sundays: 12pm and later
    
    
• Interested rental clients must take the following steps before submitting a rental inquiry.

• All rental events have a minimum rental time of two (2) hours to allow IU Cinema staff to prepare and reset the space. Rental events with complex production and/or front-of-house needs will require longer set-up time. Rental clients should factor this into their total rental event length projections as the Cinema is rented by the hour.
