Two by Stephen King In anticipation of the October 10 IU Auditorium touring premiere of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, the brilliant collaboration between John Mellencamp, Stephen King, and T-Bone Burnett, IU Cinema presents two films based on King’s work. A prolific novelist and master of suspense, dozens of King’s novels have been adapted to films. Ghost Brothers offers his debut as a playwright and he delivers everything one could ask for. See www.IUauditorium.com for more details.

Novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) crashes his car on a snowy New England road. He wakes up with massive injuries to his legs in the home of Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates). Luckily, Annie is a registered nurse and has managed to splint his mangled legs and has enough medical supplies to ease his pain until the weather clears. Annie is delighted to learn that Paul is the novelist responsible for a series of romantic novels, and Annie’s adoration soon shows itself to be real obsession. The film is based upon Stephen King’s novel of the same name, for which he helped adapt for the screen. (HD presentation)
