About Maestro

Oscar-nominated director and actor Bradley Cooper brings his considerable talents to a dramatization of the public and private lives of legendary musician Leonard Bernstein. Constructed with sensitivity, visual ingenuity, and symphonic splendor—and brimming with the boundless energy of Bernstein’s runaway genius—Maestro transports the viewer back to a postwar New York, when Bernstein (Cooper) began his stratospheric rise to international fame while also first meeting Felicia (Carey Mulligan), the actress whom he would marry and spend his life with. A tour de force defined by tower performances from Cooper and Mulligan, Matthew Libatique’s stunning cinematography, and scored by the master himself, Maestro is a tender yet complex exploration of the different faces one wears when living in the public eye. [129 min; biography, drama; English]
