Screening

About Films for One to Eight Projectors

A multi-projector performance works that operate on a number of levels concurrently—as an echo of the earliest film screenings where the projector was always part of the spectacle, as a liberation of the artistry “hidden in plain sight” in 16mm educational and industrial films, as typologies of the kinds of images that were made and circulated at specific moments in our history, and as new (and at times overwhelming) aesthetic experiences in their own right.

Presented by Roger Beebe, a filmmaker whose work consists primarily of multiple projector performances and essayistic videos that explore the world of found images and the "found" landscapes of late capitalism. Beebe has screened his films around the globe. He is also a film programmer: he ran Flicker, a festival of small-gauge film in Chapel Hill, NC, from 1997-2000 and was the founder and Artistic Director of FLEX, the Florida Experimental Film Festival from 2004-2014. He is a professor in the Department of Art at Ohio State University.
