About Devil in a Blue Dress

Denzel Washington stars as Ezekiel "Easy" Rawlins, a decorated war hero who returns home to the segregation of post-war America. Forced to accept an under-the-table job finding a missing socialite, Easy is caught between the  white power elite and the vibrant Black community of Central Avenue. And as soon as Easy and his trigger-happy friend Mouse (Don Cheadle, in a star-making performance) find the mysterious Daphne Monet (Jennifer Beals), trouble follows. [102 min; drama, mystery; English]

"It is a smart, sly film imbued with the rich subtle tones of a mournful blues saxophone piece, worthy of comparisons to  some of the best noir films of decades past." — Patricia Bibby, Associated Press

"As Devil in a Blue Dress maneuvers its way through its taut and savvy mystery I found myself glued to its every twist  and turn." — Keith Garlington, Keith & the Movies

"Brimming with period detail, Devil in a Blue Dress also pulsates with social realism as it offers a black perspective on a  familiar genre." — Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
