About 10 Things I Hate About You
On the first day at his new school, Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) instantly falls for Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), the gorgeous girl of his dreams. The only problem is that Bianca is forbidden to date until her ill-tempered, completely undatable older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) goes out, too. In an attempt to solve his problem, Cameron singles out the only guy who could possibly be a match for Kat: a mysterious bad boy (Heath Ledger) with a nasty reputation of his own. This modern adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew was a star-making turn for Ledger, the onscreen debut for Gabrielle Union, and featured a supporting cast that included David Krumholtz, Andrew Keegan, Alison Janney, and Larry Miller. "It goes straight to the top of the class. Can there be such a thing as too keen a guilty pleasure, particularly when the whole genre is knowingly pitched to audiences as a trashophile's delight? No, there cannot." — John Patterson, L.A. Weekly
"10 Things I Hate About You has become a cult classic in the past 25 years because it nailed the universal truth about stereotypes: there’s always more to them than what’s seen on the surface." — Akos Peterbencze, The Screen
"This is the film that introduced Heath Ledger to the world. Every time he is on screen in the film he owns it." — CareyAnn Pawsey, Orca Sound
