About 2025 Oscar-Nominated Shorts: Documentary

For the first time since 2012, IU Cinema is happy to present a big-screen experience for the Oscar-nominated short films. Traditionally, these shorts program have been offered to our community by the Ryder Film Series. We are honored to be a part of Peter LoPilato's Bloomington legacy of connecting our community with global cinematic treasure through our International Arthouse Series and dedicate our first Oscar Shorts screenings in over a decade to his memory.

The documentary line-up will include:

Death by Numbers – Kim A. Snyder, 33 min, USA (in English)

I Am Ready, Warden – Smriti Mundhra, 37 min, USA (in English)

Incident – Bill Morrison, 30 min, USA (in English)

Instruments of a Beating Heart – Ema Ryan Yamazaki, 23 min, Japan (in Japanese)

The Only Girl in the Orchestra – Molly O’Brien, 34 min, USA (in English)
