About Pacific Rim in 3D
When monstrous creatures began rising from the sea, they jumpstarted a never-ending war for humanity's survival. To combat the Kaiju monsters, massive robots called Jaegers were developed for global defense. But as the Jaegers become less able to beat back the Kaiju threat, and with humanity on the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed-up former pilot and an untested trainee—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past as our last hope. "A huge, CGI-heavy popcorner that still feels personal. Come for the epic monster-on-mecha showdowns, stay for the likeable humans." — Matthew Leyland, Total Film
"Guillermo del Toro is more than a filmmaker, he's a fantasy visionary with an outsized imagination and a fanatical specificity, a creator of out-of-this world universes carefully conceived down to the smallest detail." — Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times
"At first, watching Pacific Rim feels like rediscovering a favourite childhood cartoon—but del Toro has flooded the project with such affection and artistry that, rather than smiling nostalgically, you find yourself enchanted all over again." — Robbie Collin, The Telegraph
