Sequels, remakes, and reboots have long been a Hollywood reality (A Star Is Born, anyone?). For the most part, they present a low-risk, high-reward prospect for movie studios. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and, let’s face it, we, the moviegoing public, generally love to see what happens next when some of our favorite characters and stories live long enough to see another tomorrow (and another … and another). Sequelibrium offers up a handful of our favorite stories that’ve been told on the other side of “to be continued”—films we think are equally as fun as (and sometimes more than!) their original counterparts.

Screenings include:

11.14, 7pm: Terminator 2: Judgement Day | He said he'd be back! While John Connor may be the future leader of the Resistance, he isn't getting anywhere without his mom Sarah.

11.21, 7pm: Grease 2 | Is Grease 2 the most controversial pick in our sequels series? Yes. Do we have any qualms about it? Absolutely not. Stephanie Zinone is a feminist icon; no questions will be taken at this time.

12.5, 7pm: Magic Mike XXL | Look, Steven Soderbergh started it; we're merely doing the important work of rightly honoring the second chapter of an enduring cinematic legacy.

12.7, 4pm: Paddington 2 | Be a bear. Do crimes.

12.12, 7pm: The Godfather, Part II | One of the best films—let alone sequels—of all time, full stop. 50th anniversary screening.
