Joshua Oppenheimer
Award-winning filmmaker Joshua Oppenheimer is perhaps best known for his soul-stirring 2012 documentary The Act of Killing and its follow-up The Look of Silence, both of which won numerous film festival prizes and were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Oppenheimer was a 2014 recipient of the MacArthur fellowship and currently teaches film at the University of Westminster. His newest project, The End—a post-apocalyptic musical starring Tilda Swinton, Michael Shannon, and George MacKay—premiered in August 2024 at the Telluride Film Festival to critical acclaim.
