Barry Allen will be presenting a lecture on the restoration of Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West.

Barry Allen is the former Executive Director of Film Preservation and Archival Resources at Paramount Pictures, from which he retired in September of 2010. In 1967 Barry started his career in film professionally as an editor for WISH-TV in Indianapolis when he edited on 16mm, all movies that would be broadcast. In subsequent years he transitioned to booking and programming repertory and commercial films for Heaston Theatres in Indianapolis. In 1987 he joined the TV Group Operations Department of Paramount Pictures as the manager of TV Syndication Distribution. In 1999 Barry was assigned the role of film preservationist for the Republic Pictures library, a subsidiary holding of Paramount & Viacom. In the mid 2000s, he was assigned the role of preservationist for the entire Paramount library of film assets. In 2005, Barry was awarded the Anthology Film Archives Honor for his work to preserve the Republic Pictures library.

Barry attended Indiana University at Indianapolis and Bloomington.
