A comedy of errors that grows increasingly dramatic, Whit Stillman’s 1994 Barcelona opens with Ted, an uptight salesman working for a US corporation in their Barcelona office. To his surprise, his laid back cousin, Fred, with whom he has had a stormy history of conflict since childhood, comes to stay with him while he handles public relations for an incoming fleet of US ships. The events that follow his arrival change their lives forever, as they come to terms with themselves and their roles in the world.
