New York City-based independent film production company Killer Films was founded by Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler and has produced bold, controversial and acclaimed features since the early 1990’S. Christine Vachon has become a driving force behind some of the most original filmmakers of these last two decades. The New York Times called her the “godmother to the politically committed film” and Interview Magazine said that she is a true “auteur producer.”

Christine Vachon is the co-head and co-founder of Killer Films, which has produced some of the most acclaimed American independent films. Mildred Pierce marks her fifth collaboration with Todd Haynes, dating back to her role as a producer on Haynes’ directorial film debut, Poison, as well as Velvet Goldmine, I’m Not There and Far from Heaven. Vachon has received ten Independent Spirit Award nominations, winning Best Feature for Haynes’ Academy Award®-nominated Far from Heaven and the Producers Award for I’m Losing You. She received a Gotham Award nomination for Haynes’ Academy Award®-nominated I’m Not There and has received Producer Awards from both the National Board of Review and the Gotham Awards. Vachon’s other production credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch, for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination, the Academy Award®-winning Boys Don’t Cry, HBO Films’ The Notorious Bettie Page, Cairo Time, Cracks, Motherhood, Gigantic, Then She Found Me, Savage Grace, An American Crime, Infamous, A Dirty Shame, A Home at the End of the World, The Company and One Hour Photo. Vachon’s other television credits include HBO Films’ Mrs. Harris, for which she was nominated for an Emmy® Award and a PGA Award, as well as This American Life, for which she won an Emmy® Award. - HBO Films
