It is with great regret that we must announce that the 8mm Derek Jarman Short Film Program with Cyclobe for Thursday, October 8, 2015, has been cancelled.

From the Wounded Galaxies webpage:

“We’re sad to announce that due to complications with international visas, Cyclobe has had to cancel. However, we have already found an exciting replacement for their Thursday, Oct 8 performance at the IU Cinema: Andre Perkowski’s 2014 film Nova Express. An adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novel that does justice to Burroughs’ own cut-up technique, Nova Express is a collage of found and original footage that winds through grotesque, sci-fi, and homoerotic imagery.”

We are working now to build the new event web page and ticketing functionality for the Nova Express screening, which will be $3 for all tickets. We hope to have the new web page live no later than this Friday, September 18, with ticket purchasing options available at that time.

In 2013, British soundscape duo Cyclobe composed a phantasmagorical score for three rare Derek Jarman Super 8 films, Tarot (1975, 16 min.), Garden of Luxor (1972–73, 8 min.), and Sulphur (1973, 7 min.). The films explore themes of mythology, the occult, exoticism, and queer sexuality through imagery of magic rituals, tarot cards, skulls, crawling insects, pyramids, the Sphinx, masked figures, and supine young men. This will be the first time that Cyclobe performs their score live during a screening of the films. (HD.)

The screening order for this program: Sulphur, (1973, 7 min.)
Tarot, (1975, 16 min.)
Garden of Luxor, (1972–73, 8 min.)
