Metadata:

In this fairy tale-esque screw-ball comedy, Professor Bertram Potts (Gary Cooper), a linguist on a mission to learn American slang, becomes entangled with the enchanting, yet dangerous, nightclub singer Katherine “Sugarpuss” O’Shea (Barbara Stanwyck). Directed by Howard Hawks and based on a short story by Billy Wilder, the film was nominated for four Oscars® in 1942—competing against Cooper and Stanwyck’s Meet John Doe (dir. Frank Capra) and Stanwyck’s The Lady Eve (dir. Preston Sturges) for best original screenplay. Contains some mildly suggestive content. (35mm Presentation)
