This program includes three complementary takes by porn-studies scholars/makers on how the pre-WWII archive of obscene, explicit, and illicit moving-image materials claim our attention as historians of nonfiction media. Sheaffer, Waugh, and Williams each share selected moving-image “treasures” from the Kinsey hoard, some of which will be restored for the first time. They reflect on these underground narratives, networks, and audiences, as well as the evidentiary and political implications of archival desire as 21st-century researchers. Contains mature content.
