About Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Bill Preston and Ted Logan are two cool dudes, but to their teacher they are high school no-hopers. They fantasize about forming a band called Wyld Stallyns—one day they'll pull themselves together and learn to play guitar. But unless Ted achieves the seemingly impossible and passes a history presentation, he will be shipped off to military school. End of friendship. A figure from the future appears in the nick of time, providing a time-travelling phone booth. The two jump in and out of different eras, collecting historical figures—from Socrates to Billy the Kid—and confronting them with West Coast culture! [90 min; adventure, comedy; English]

"The thorough goofiness the film luxuriates in, as compared to the covert self-seriousness of nearly every teen comedy ever made, sets Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure apart and heads and tails above the glut of its ilk. Most triumphant, indeed." — Chris Cabin, Slant Magazine

"There are multiple reasons why Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is such an entertaining movie even now, but the biggest is that Matheson, Solomon, and director Stephen Herek found the perfect Bill and Ted in Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, two young actors with just the right boyish energy." — Noel Murray, The A.V. Club

"Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure has a supremely silly story that some may deem 'dated,' but its classic charms—and Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves' pitch-perfect performances—are still just as entertaining as ever." — Zoë Rose Bryant, Loud and Clear Reviews
