About The Lake House

An English-language reimagining of the 2000 South Korean film Il Mare, Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves reunite to star in The Lake House, a romantic tale of two people who find a love strong enough to span the years separating the couple. As lonely Dr. Kate Forster (Bullock) exchanges letters with architect Alex Wyler (Reeves), a correspondence grows into love, but the two realize that they are living in the same house two years apart. To be together, they must unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance—knowing that their quest may destroy the link that has allowed them to fall in love. [99 min; drama, mystery, romance; English]

"A satisfyingly sarcasm-free ode to the flickering absurdity of romance." — Fernando F. Croce, CinePassion

"A little mystery. A little love. Heartache, heart-wrench, sentimentality and romanticism. It will touch your heart." — Debbie Lynn Elias, Behind the Lens

"Elegantly scripted by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Auburn, The Lake House never establishes any clear rules about how and when these strands of time can intertwine, but it succeeds at forging a bond between people who only know each other on the page." — Scott Tobias, The A.V. Club
