About Children of Men

In the year 2027, it has been nearly two decades since the last baby was born. Disillusioned Theo (Clive Owen) becomes an unlikely champion of the human race when he is asked by his estranged wife (Julianne Moore) to escort a young pregnant woman out of the country as quickly as possible. In a thrilling race against time, Theo will risk everything to deliver the miracle that may be the renewal of hope for the entire world. Based on the 1992 novel by P.D. James, Children of Men was nominated for three 2007 Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Cinematography. It was honored with BAFTA Awards the same year for Best Cinematography and Best Production Design. [109 min; sci-fi, drama, thriller; Russian, Serbian, English, German, Italian, Romanian, Spanish, Arabic, Georgian, Hebrew, and Sanskrit with English subtitles]

"Made with palpable energy, intensity and excitement, it compellingly creates a world gone mad that is uncomfortably close to the one we live in. It is a Blade Runner for the 21st century, a worthy successor to that epic of dystopian decay." — Kenneth Turan, L.A. Times

"It's a heartbreaking, bullet-strewn valentine to what keeps us human." — Keith Phipps, The A.V. Club

"Children of Men is Cuarón's run for freedom, with a riveting story, fantastic action scenes, and acting so universally solid that even the dogs perform masterfully under his direction." — Peter Harlaub, San Francisco Chronicle
