About Bones and All

After her father grows tired and disappears one day, Maren, a teenage cannibal, goes on a journey of self-discovery across America to find her mother and get an understanding of who she truly is. On this journey, she meets others just like her, good and bad. This doomed cannibalistic love story is displayed through the acting of Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet as the main characters, along with Mark Rylance, André Holland, and Chloë Sevigny. [130 min; drama; English]

Programmed by IU Cinema Event Program Assistant Eshe Waiss.

“It’s on the nose in all the right ways for this majestically seedy, deeply creepy and altogether beautiful love story about an ever-consuming hunger.” — Stephen Garrett, Book & Film Globe

“Luca Guadagnino delivers another tour-de-force film in Bones and All, featuring career-best performances from Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet.” — Maxance Vincent, Film Speak

“Combining tones and artistic choices that have no right to be together, yet dazzle in spite of this, Guadagnino has created something harrowing and heart-wrenching, but also spellbindingly gorgeous.” — Calum Cooper, In Their Own League
