About Dredd 3D
Mega City One is a vast, violent metropolis where felons rule the streets. The only law lies with cops called “judges,” who act as judge, jury and executioner, and Dredd is one of the city's most feared. One day, Dredd is partnered with Cassandra, a rookie with powerful psychic abilities. A report of a terrible crime sends Dredd and Cassandra to a dangerous area controlled by Ma-Ma, a drug lord who will stop at nothing to protect her empire. Co-written by Alex Garland. [95 min; action, sci-fi; English]
"Dredd works because it's an action flick with wide appeal that takes risks it doesn't need to—in its delightfully off-putting violence and daring style—and those choices pay off in a singular and exhilarating movie experience. It's savage, beautiful and loads of fun." — Joel Arnold, NPR
"The impressively lean script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later) is shorn of almost all superfluity...while Anthony Dod Mantle's sensational widescreen cinematography harkens back to the tension-inducing inventiveness of early John Carpenter." — Keith Uhlich, Time Out
"With style and dour charisma to spare, Dredd proves that the smartest way to handle an action plot is often the simplest." — Katey Rich, CinemaBlend
