Re:Made
Re:Made pairs an original film with its remake to articulate how filmmaking, film culture, and film impact evolves as the industry, audiences, and cultures change. Each pair of films is combined with a conversation between filmmaking professionals, academics, and other film experts, focusing on one particular aspect of the films' evolution over time.
This program is generously funded by the Roberta and S. James Sherman Inspiring Conversations Fund.
Fall 2026 | Stunts!
This season’s Re:Made program focuses on the craft of stunt and combat work in film, thanks to two of the most white-knuckle thrillers committed to celluloid: The Wages of Fear (1953) and its remake, Sorcerer (1977).
The screening of Sorcerer will be followed by a conversation on the evolution of cinematic stunt work between Leraldo Anzaldua and Patrick Kelly.
Leraldo Anzaldua (Assistant Professor of Movement and Stage Combat, IU Theatre and Drama) is an actor, fight director, and motion capture performer for film and video games. He also lends his voiceover acting talents to anime. An experienced theatrical fight director, his work has appeared on stage at the Houston Grand Opera, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, and Stages Repertory Theatre, among many others. As a motion capture performer, he’s worked cinematically on Starship Troopers: Invasion and Appleseed: Alpha, as well as on the video games The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay; Just Cause; and Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade. Anzaldua is certified by the Society of American Fight Directors and has voiced almost 100 anime characters.
Patrick Kelly (Director of Martial Arts, IU) currently works as a professional martial artist, fight choreographer, stunt coordinator, and performer. He’s worked on the stunt/fight team for the History Channel's Vikings, Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla, and Amazon’s Bloodaxe. He has served as stunt coordinator for several feature films in addition to various music videos and motion capture projects. As a theatrical fight choreographer, he’s designed violence for multiple stage productions.
