Serhiy, a deaf teenager, enters a specialized boarding school where, to survive, he becomes part of a wild organization—the Tribe. His love for one of the concubines will unwillingly lead him to break all the unwritten rules within the Tribe’s hierarchy. This unsettling film compels viewers to ponder the ethics and effects of social exile of the disabled and different, as well as humans’ propensity to dominate and abuse one another. The actors communicate only through sign language, and the film includes no spoken dialogue or incidental music. Contains mature content, graphic nudity, and violence.
