1984
Genres:
Drama, Musical
Metadata:
We mourn the passing of an incomparable artist. He was a singular, visionary talent whose music, style, and films defined a generation. Join us in celebrating the life and artistry of Prince Rogers Nelson, who wrote and starred in one of the all-time, most-beloved music films, Purple Rain.

Rock star Prince plays a headstrong, vulnerable young musician known as "the kid" in this surprising 1984 box-office hit. "The kid" meets an aspiring singer, Apollonia, and finds that talent alone isn't all that he needs. A complicated tale of his repeating his father's self-destructive behavior, losing Apollonia to another singer (Morris Day), and his coming to grips with his own connection to other people ensues.
