This Jorgensen Guest Filmmaker program will be in the form of a keynote address. J. Hoberman is an author, teacher, and cultural critic. From 1978 through 2011 he wrote on film for The Village Voice; he has also written for numerous publications including Artforum, The London Review of Books, and The New York Times. He was the Gelb Professor of Humanities at Cooper Union and has lectured widely and taught cinema studies at Columbia, Harvard, and NYU. His 13 books include The Red Atlantis: Communist Culture in the Absence of Communism (Temple University Press); The Dream Life: Movies, Media, and the Mythology of the Sixties (The New Press); and Film After Film, or What Became of 21st Century Cinema (Verso).   More information on the Wounded Galaxies 1968 Festival and Symposium can be found here.
