About Robin and the 7 Hoods

In Prohibition-era Chicago, Guy Gisborne (Peter Falk) plans to seize control of the city’s rackets after bumping off head honcho Big Jim Stevens. The only man standing in his way is fellow gangster Robbo (Frank Sinatra), who refuses to give up his territory and soon becomes celebrated in the press after an offhand donation to an orphanage leads to more charitable efforts. Meanwhile, Big Jim’s scheming daughter, Marian (Barbara Rush), decides she deserves her father’s empire instead of Gisborne—and she’ll do whatever it takes to get it. Featuring eight songs by Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, including the Oscar-nominated Sinatra classic “My Kind of Town.” [123 min; comedy, musical; English]
