The Brinton Collection contains films from the life and career of William Franklin Brinton of Washington, Iowa, an itinerant showman, travelling from Texas to Minnesota to project film, and other entertainments during the years 1895–1909. Brinton was an eccentric and energetic individual and this collection preserves some of the earliest commercially available film. Student DJs will help introduce these early cinematic entertainments to new audiences.

The program of short films is approximately 50 min., which will run on a loop three times during the event with a student DJ accompanying each rotation.

Preceding the film, in the Arts Plaza near Showalter Fountain, will be an interactive hands-on information table with IULMIA and IU Cinema projectionists and archivists on hand to demonstrate and train students on the processes of film-projector threading, focusing, and framing. This activity will take place from 5–7:30 pm.
