About Kneecap
Former schoolteacher JJ and local hoods/casual drug dealers Naoise and Liam Og are Kneecap, an unlikely trio rapping in their native Irish and unlikely figureheads of a civil rights movement to save their mother tongue. But first they must overcome police, paramilitaries, and politicians trying to silence their defiant sound while their anarchic approach to life makes them their own worst enemies. In this fiercely original sex, drugs and hip-hop quasi-biopic, Kneecap play themselves, laying down a global rallying cry for the defense of native cultures. First Irish-language film to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival (and at IU Cinema!). [135 min; comedy, drama; English and Irish with English subtitles]

"Bursting with unruly energy that practically escapes the confines of the screen, Kneecap is a riotous, drug-laced triumph in the name of freedom that bridges political substance and crowd-pleasing entertainment." — Variety
