After Barbara and Adam Maitland (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes and their teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose help quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia. [92 min; comedy, horror; English]
A Q&A with Ansley Valentine (Theatre, Drama and Contemporary Dance) and Dr. Daniel Bishop (Jacobs School of Music) will follow the screening. Valentine will share insights from the manuscript he is currently developing, which explores the process of adapting films into musicals, while Bishop will offer perspective on the role of film scoring and how music shapes storytelling on screen.
